How do you remove a pellet stove in an existing fireplace? What’s involved?
Help please! We have a built in pellet stove and want to remove it. What’s behind the insert? Are there things done to the fireplace that need to be removed before we can use it as a regular fireplace again?
Removing the pellet stove really isn’t a difficult task. Controlling the dirt and dust you create while doing so can be. The proper way to do things here though is find out if the fireplace is usable without the pellet burner installed. It would be no fun at all to go to all that work and then find out the fireplace is not safe to use or will not draw properly. So step one is an inspection by a qualified professional. Pellet stoves have been installed many different ways over the years and a professional inspection is a small price to pay to find out just what you have.
